סרט הגלדיאטורים האולטימטיבי שביים סטנלי קובריק. ספקטקל אפי על העת העתיקה. סיפורו של העבד ספרטקוס (קירק דאגלס) שנדון למוות לאחר שנשך חייל רומאי. סוחר גלדיאטורים (פיטר יוסטינוב) חס עליו ומגייס אותו לצוות שלו. ספרטקוס נלקח לבית ספר לגלדיאטורים ומשם לזירה, וכל העת נחשפת גם הדקדנטיות של רומא העתיקה. הצלחתו של הגלדיאטור החדש בזירה הולכת צעד אחד יותר מדי.

The film stars Kirk Douglas as the rebellious slave Spartacus who leads a violent revolt against the decadent Roman empire. The film was awarded four Oscars and stands today as one of the greatest classics of the Sword and Sandal genre.
